Watercolour Society of Victoria

The Watercolour Society of Victoria (WSV) in conjunction with John Withers,

has established a program that supports and mentors emerging artists.

​

1. The Watercolour Society of Victoria was approached by Andrew Mackenzie in March 2022 to establish an Emerging Artists Program to encourage and support emerging watercolour artists and encourage them to commit to two years involvement with the Watercolour Society of Victoria and to the Emerging Artists program.

2. Walter Wither’s grandson – John Withers has very generously provided the society with a grant of $2500 per annum to assist participants in their journey as an artist. The Watercolour Society of Victoria with the support of the $2500 grant, selects up to four emerging watercolour artists to be part of the program which commenced in August 2022.

3. The Watercolour Society of Victoria - John Withers Emerging Artist Program subsidises membership of the Watercolour Society of Victoria for two years, provides the candidates with gift vouchers from Seniors Art Supplies each year, identifies and subsidises the cost of suitable training courses or workshops for the candidates and matches them with artist mentors to help them with their journey as a watercolour artist.
